NOTTINGHAM, England (April 2008)—Luxfer Europe’s fittest employees were back on top form at the British Lung Foundation’s Annual Lung Run held on April 27th in Sutton Park, Birmingham.

Now in its 15th year, the event attracted thousands of runners from across the UK, including Breathe Easy Group members and friends of the foundation’s patient support network.

Luxfer’s 10K teams performed exceptionally well with Richard Trapeau from the company’s French manufacturing facility finishing 12th in the 10K race in an outstanding time of 37 minutes and 25 seconds, and teammates David Weston and Fleur Foster from Nottingham following closely behind in 49 minutes 21/22 seconds.

Vicky Butler, Luxfer’s European marketing manager, added: “Major events like the Lung Run provide much-needed funds for the British Lung Foundation, which is a lifeline for many of the eight million people living with lung disease throughout the UK. We are extremely proud to be associated with such a deserving and hard-working charity.”

Lung diseases — asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis and lung cancer — affect eight million people in the UK. The British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity working for everyone affected by lung disease, providing support for affected people today and working in a variety of ways, including funding world-class research, to bring about improved treatment, care and support for the future.
