Luxfer Gas Cylinders

Luxfer’s Voyage™ line of all-metal cylinders manufactured
from Luxfer’s patented L7X ® aluminum alloy

Luxfer’s exclusive Voyage product line consists of all-metal cylinders manufactured from Luxfer’s patented, higher-strength L7X® aluminum alloy.

Luxfer holds exclusive global patents on two different versions of this alloy and its manufacturing methods (U.S. Patent 5,932,037 and E.U. Patent 0,694,084).

The main L7X-alloy advantages are higher-pressure filling (up to 3,000 psi or 207 bar) and significantly more gas capacity with no increase in cylinder size or noticeable weight gain.

Because L7X-alloy cylinders hold up to 50% more oxygen, per-patient delivery costs—including fuel, vehicle maintenance and labor—are greatly reduced since fewer trips are needed to deliver the same number of cylinders.

With L7X, it is also possible to reduce the number of cylinders per delivery by up to one third—which means more space on delivery trucks, more warehouse space and reduced costs for cylinder handling and requalification.

Higher-pressure filling is the wave of the future around the world, and only Luxfer offers a full line of higher-pressure, higher-capacity aluminum cylinders. Widely used for more than 20 years in Europe, L7X-alloy cylinders were introduced in the United States in 2005.

Voyage L7X-alloy cylinder benefits

  • 15-year warranty, the best in the industry.
  • Charging pressure to 3,000 psi (207 bar).
  • Up to 50% more gas capacity.
  • Exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Stronger threads reduce damage and wear from valving and devalving.
  • Up to 40% lighter in weight than conventional steel cylinders
  • L7X-alloy cylinders use the same filling equipment, connections and carts as conventional cylinders.
  • Non-magnetic—compatible with MRI and other high-technology medical imaging systems.
  • Cost-effective alternative to expensive LOX systems.
  • Patients need no additional training to use these higher-capacity cylinders.
  • L7X-alloy cylinders can be used along with existing cylinder fleets.
