Luxfer holds exclusive global patents on two different versions of this alloy and its manufacturing methods (U.S. Patent 5,932,037 and E.U. Patent 0,694,084). The main L7X-alloy advantages are higher-pressure filling (up to 3,000 psi or 207 bar) and significantly more gas capacity with no increase in cylinder size or noticeable weight gain.
