• Liquid oxygen spills can cause severe burns and increase the possibility of oxygen-fed fires.
• LOX systems constantly vent, whether being used or not. Luxfer Medical cylinders do not vent, and their contents can be safely stored until needed.
• Some LOX portables operate only with conserving devices, making them unsuitable for patients who require continuous oxygen flow either constantly or occasionally. Luxfer Medical cylinders can be used with or without conserving devices, offering continuous flow for those who need it.
• At home, a patient is tethered to an immobile LOX base unit by a long, cumbersome tube. When the patient travels away from home, time is curtailed by the limited capacity of a portable LOX container.
