Replacement components

PRDs (pressure-relief devices)

In addition to cylinders, Luxfer offers a superior line of valves and PRDs (pressure relief devices), including complete cylinder kits for AF applications. Our high-flow PRDs allow a faster release in case of an emergency.

Key features and benefits:

  • An extremely lightweight and compact valve with a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy body – up to 50% lighter than similar products.
  • Optional studs: fixed or indexable 370 degrees.
  • Low-torque for ease of use – up to 66% lower than similar products.
  • Includes Luxfer’s high-flow PRD (direct or vented). High-flow in and out (Cv = 2.0; flow equi. =0.277”/7.04mm orifice).

Additional features and benefits:

  • Optional excess-flow valve.
  • Available rig pin to lock lever in closed position.
  • Very low leakage (-50C O-rings).
  • Burst: 20,000 psi (1380 bar), 25% higher than other similar products on the market (higher burst ratings available with lower-flow PRDs).
  • 200-bar, 250-bar, 350-bar and 450-bar ratings.
  • 10,000 cycle life (ISO 15500-4, 250 bar).
  • Optional port for remote PRDs, gauges and sensors.
  • Compliance to CGA S1.1, NGV3.1, ECE R110 and ISO 15500.

ESVs (electronic solenoid valves)

Models BV-350 and BV-700

Ideal for 350-bar and 700-bar hydrogen applications, these fast-response, in-tank solenoid valves are made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy (clear-anodized for corrosion resistance).

Features and benefits:

  • Two non-directional inlet/outlet ports to simply system manifolds.
  • 10 µm inlet filter.
  • Manual valve (isolation valve).
  • High-pressure solenoid (HPS) – true vehicle engine quick start.
  • Excess flow valve (auto-resetting).
  • Thermally activated PRD.
  • Internally routed bleed function.
  • High-pressure sensor port (two styles).
  • In-tank temperature sensor.
  • Four-pin electrical connector.

End-plug PRD

  • Extremely lightweight products achieved by using 6061-T6 aluminum alloy body (only 0.23 pounds).
  • Very low profile to maximize space (0.51 inches).
  • Available as axial and radial end plugs.

Neck block mounts

For G-Stor Pro (Type 3) and GEN2 G-Stor Go (Type 4) cylinders

Various mounting methods may be used with Luxfer cylinders. The mounting method and appropriate mounting hardware are often specified by the fuel-system manufacturer and may be supplied by Luxfer. Refer to applicable instructions and specifications provided by the fuel-system manufacturer or cylinder manufacturer before attempting to mount cylinders.

Luxfer’s 6061-T6 aluminum alloy neck-mount blocks are designed to allow cylinders to expand horizontally while being filled to full pressure.

Strap mounts

For GEN2 G-Stor Go (Type 4) cylinders

These carbon steel brackets were specially designed for Luxfer GEN2 G-Stor Go cylinders to avoid product damage as cylinders expand while being filled to full pressure.

Features and benefits:

  • Strong carbon steel material coated for corrosion protection.
  • Specially designed for GEN2 G-Stor Go 22-inch product range to allow for cylinder expansion without compromising cylinder integrity.
  • Easy to install.
  • Designed and manufactured to meet NFPA 52 G-loading requirements.
